&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;Most of my working life is described in http://elf.org/etc/author.html.  My radio life began as a SWL using an antique Magnavox Console that contained a short wave receiver.  In college I built a 20M direct conversion radio from a kit offered to accompany an article in QST.  Later I built an HW-9.  10 years ago I finally tested for an amateur license.  In January, 2011 I stumbled onto the sdr-widget group and I&amp;#039;ve been collecting unbuilt kits ever since.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
